Wombat Sports: You have went the distance in all of your fights so far. How has it been to fight longer matches?
Stephanie Alba: I have really good endurance so I actually feel like I get better the longer the fight. I get pissed when I’m tired, so it means I get more.aggressive. lol
Wombat: You had a close fight last time with Paulina Granados, did you learn anything from that encounter?
Alba: Yeah. I learned a lot about that fight.I learned I don’t want to.fight friends again and I.also learned that I need to fight my fight. it was a very fun fight I really enjoyed it its probably one of my faves.
W.S.: You recently moved to St. Louis to train at Berger’s MMA with Ashley Cummins. How has it been to change camps?
S.A.: It’s been amazing training with Ashley she has taught me so much. I feel like I’ve really improved because of it. We have a great girls team over there. It’s definitely the place to be if your a girl. There is so much comradery, everyone grind it out together. pros to beginners.
W.S.: The atomweight division is starting to grow in the pro ranks, and we are seeing more step up in the ammies. How do you see the state of the divisions?
S.A.: It’s so inspiring to see it grow. It makes it so much easier to be able to fight at the right.weight. Being smaller was always tough to find a.fight. but.now its kicking.off so.that is great.
W.S.: You are taking this match on short notice. What do you know about your opponent and what are your expectations?
S.A.: Ha-ha. Yeah 2 days notice. I don’t know much about her. All I know is I’m coming to fight and win.
