Alexandra Albu announced Monday she has signed to the UFC growing female roster.
Not much is known of Albu outside her native Russia, with a 5-0 record that can’t be found in the world fight indexes. We did some digging and can tell you some more info about her.
Albu is one of the top Crossfit competitors in Russia. She started martial arts with a karate background, and is a black belt. She soon took up Judo as well. To top that off, she is a power lifter, having won the Moscow Cup.
She trains out of KEGI MMA and the Red Fury Fight team, but had also trained in Thailand in Muay Thai. All but one of her MMA wins happened there (which is interesting since MMA is illegal in Thailand) . Her last fight was in her native Russia against Pankration Champion Lyubov Demidova, which we can confirm. All of her wins were by first round stoppages.
No word on when she will make her UFC debut.
