InvictaFC continues its signing spree with the announcement of LaToya Walker (145) and Jozette Cotton (155) to the roster.
Walker (3-0) went undefeated as an amateur and will fight in September against Anita Rodriguez at Sugar Creek Showdown.
Cotton (4-0) has finished three of her four opponents as a pro and also undefeated as an amateur.
InvictaFC President Shannon Knapp told Cage Side Submissions that Ayaka Hamasaki and Mizuki Inoue will be on InvictaFC 9. A third Japanese fight is yet to be announced.
To clarify what was going on in terms of Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd and InvictaFC, Coenen’s Invicta contract expired a while ago and Budd was a “fight-to-fight” basis.
InvictaFC vet Jocelyn Lybarger will return to action for RFA October 10 facing Rebecca Gullet.
Lybarger (3-1) is coming off a decision win over Rosa Acevedo. Gullet is coming off a TKO win over Mandy Polk.
The bout is expected to air on AXS-TV.
On the heels of XFC’s success in Brazil, John Prisco has resigned as the president of the promotion.
Several sources tell us that investors are seeing better results in Brazil than the are in the U.S. due to a tv deal and better sponsors. There has been rumors of folding the US portion entirely. There is no word on if the proposed Florida card in October will happen or the status of the XFC US based fighters.
With Kalin Curran signing to the UFC, PXC has signed Brogan Walker to their flyweight division. Walker is the first female fighter from Guam to compete professionally. She will face Korea’s Yoo Jin Jung at PXC 45 in Guam October 17.
Paige VanZant announced she has a spine injury and had to move back to Reno in order get health insurance. She is supposed to face Kailin Curran at UFC Fight Night in Halifax, Nova Scotia October 4th but that fight is up in the air.
InvictaFC signee Amanda Bobby Cooper will be out for a few months due to a ACL injury. She is set to go under the knife September 5.
The UFC did a piece on the resurgence of Japanese MMA that feature DEEP-JEWELS stars Shizuka Sugiyama and Brittany Decker. You can watch it here.
World Series of Fighting champion Jessica Aguilar and InvictaFC fighter JJ Aldrich were both on recent episodes of Spike TV’s “Gym Rescue”. Aldrich was in episode 1 and Aguilar in episode 2. You can watch the show here.
Rumors
With the current expansion in the bigger weight classes at Invicta, Tuff-n-uff maybe doing a 145 and 155 tournament with the winner getting a pro contract with Invicta.
Expect the InvictaFC 9th card to be outside of Kansas City. Sights are set for early November for the card.
Michelle Ould is possibly looking to drop to 115 after her fight with DeAnna Bennett at InvictaFC 8.

Pro MMA
Milana Dudieva got her first UFC in Macao, China as she defeated Elizabeth Phillips by split decision at UFC Fight Night 48 which aired live on UFC Fight Pass.
Dudieva pushed forward while Phillips circled. Phillips was able to control the fight on the ground and had thought she had taken the decision, but the judges saw in Dudieva’s favor. This is the second close decision Phillips lost in the UFC.
After the fight, the UFC pulled one of the judges due to incompetence in judging.
Bantamweight prospect Pannie Kianzad remains undefeated as she took on a tough Megan van Houtum at Cage Warriors in Amman, Jordan. Houtum used her judo to gain an edge in round one, but it was Kiazad’s striking that would be the factor in round two to take the TKO win at 2:17. Kianzad improves to 6-0.
Lina Akhtar Länsberg outstruck Laura Howarth in Lansberg’s TKO win. Howarth didn’t come out for round 2, later siting “her head wasn’t in the fight”.
In what was a “Knockout of the Year” candidate, Christine Stanley landed an impressive spinning head kick to Katie Anita Runyan, ending the fight in only 5 seconds at the Xplode Fight Series in San Diego, CA. You can watch the video here.
Two Thai fighters made history being the first women from Thailand to face each other in MMA. Suwanon Boonsorn submitted Kaewjai Prachumwong by armbar in round 2 at Full Metal Dojo in Phuket, Thailand.

- At Samurai Combate 6 in Brazil, Ingrid Lasmim defeated Betina Baino by TKO round 2
- Jennifer Maia defeated Elaine Albuquerque by unanimous decision to win the 125 title at Circuito Talent 11 in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil
- At Shooto in Rio, Brazil, Luciana Pereira defeated Mariana Morais by unanimous decision

Sarah Jamilia was crowned the new Tuff-n-uff bantamweight champion in Mesquite, NV, as she handed Kaytlin Neil her first loss as an amateur getting the unanimous decision. Jamilia improves to 3-0.
Emily Whitmire improves to 3-4 as she defeated Cheri Muraski by split decision in a flyweight bout.

Boxing
Chevelle Hallback gains the vacant World Boxing Federation welterweight title with her 8th round TKO win over Victoria Cisneros in Tampa, Florida. Hallback gets back to back TKO wins and improves to 30-8.
A trio of bouts happened in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
WBO female super bantamweight champion Marcela Eliana Acuna got the unanimous decision victory over Edith Soledad Matthysse to retain her title.
In other actions Erica Anabella Farias defeated Roxana Beatriz Laborde by TKO round 3 and Vanesa Lorena Taborda defeated Johana Belen Gimenez by majority decision.
