Rumors
Word is getting around that InvictaFC president Shannon Knapp took some meetings with Showtime Sports in New York in the past few weeks. As MMAFighting.com reported a few weeks ago, Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza stated he would like to see InvictaFC on the network.

Megumi Fujii was set to take on a yet to be named opponent at Vale Tudo Japan this month, but decided to bow out due to “injures that occured over her career” according to an article on DamadeFerroMMA.com. Fujii for the past few years was looking to retire from the sport, and by the looks of it, she is about ready to make that announcement.

A major part of the new DEEP JEWELS is to have their own kickboxing S-cup one night tournaments with foreign fighters being flown in to take on Japanese talent. This could happen later this year and InvictaFC fighters will most likely take part. Many have shown interest in fighting in Japan.

Word is getting around that Bellator MMA has decided to freeze their female divisions for the foreseeable future. We can only hope these fighters can get fights at Invicta.

Scheduled Fights
#2 ranked flyweight Jessica Eye will return to her home state of Ohio to take on veteran fighter Carina Damm at NAAFS this weeknd.
Eye (9-1) got the first round technical submission over Bellator strawweight tournament champ Zolia Gurgel in December. Eye was supposed to face Munah Holland in March, but a back injury sidelined her. She is on a six fight win streak.
Damm (17-8) has been in the sport for over eight years, and is looking to climb back into the top ten. She is coming off back to back losses to Munah Holland (KO) and Tonya Evinger (split decision) respectfully.

In Cranbrook, Canada, Charmaine Tweet will take on Amanda Bell on the Battle at the Border card.
Bell is coming off a pro debut loss to Tammika Brents at InvictaFC 4 this past January. In her amateur career, she went 7-1, including a win over Jessamyn Duke.
Tweet (3-3) is currently on a two fight win streak coming off a first round rear naked choke victory over Sy Jewett.

Patricia Vidonic is stepping up last minute to take on Alida Gray at Sugar Creek Showdown in Hinton, OK June 1. The match will be for their inaugural strawweight title.
Vidonic got her win over Jessica Doerner just a few weeks ago via first round armbar. She lost to #1 ranked Jessica Aguilar via decision earlier this year at Bellator MMA.
Gray will make her pro debut after going 3-1 and an amateur. She had first round finishes in all of her wins.
In an amateur bout on the card, Madison Dodd will face Nicole Duffy.

In boxing, WBC champion Melissa Herandez will rematch Jelena Mrdjenovich for the third time in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Mrdjenovich has lost the past two outings with Herandez, first by a split decision in 2011, and the a unanimous decision this past September. Mrdjenovich was coming off a four fight win streak before facing Herandez last year. Herandez is looking for her third straight win.

Anne Sophie Mathis will face Yahaira Hernandez for the vacant WBF light middleweight title in France. Mathis is coming off back to back decision loses to two of the sports top stars in Holly Holm and Cecilia Braekhus. She will be moving up in weight to take on Hernadez, who has TKOed her last three opponents within two rounds.

The undefeated Yesica Yolanda Bopp will try to take away the WBC silver light flyweight title away from Jessica Chavez in Panama City, Panama Saturday. Bopp has an impressive 24-0 record having finished her last three opponents. She is also the current WBA and WBO flyweight champion.
Chavez is looking tp retain her title with seven straight wins to her credit. She is also the current interim WBF light flyweight champion.
