The first ever female Ultimate Fighter will have to wait 2 years to make her second step into the octagon.
Julianna Pena has injured her knee for a third time and had to drop out of her upcoming match against Jessica Andrade at UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas March 15. UFC Tonight announced fellow TUF cast member Raquel Pennington will step in for the fight.
Update: Pena has torn her ACL, MCL, LCL, and Meniscus which is much more extensive than previously thought.
Pennington (4-3) lost in the semi-finals by unanimous decision to TUF runner-up Jessica Rakoczy. On the TUF Finale in November, Pennington won in her octagon debut, getting the unanimous decision over Roxanne Modafferi snapping a two fight losing streak (not including the TUF loss).
Andrade (10-3) rebounded from her first UFC loss to Liz Carmouche to get the unanimous decision over veteran fighter Rosi Sexton in October.
The match is expected to air on the preliminary card, which will air on Fox.
